Have you ever wondered if the quiet message you sensed was truly from your own inner voice… or something more?
This is one of the most tender and powerful questions we can ask on the spiritual path.
In this post, I’ll gently guide you through the difference between intuition and spirit guidance, how our guides show up for us, and how to recognize when a message is truly aligned with your highest good. I’ll also share some of my own experiences—including the way my guides “tap me on the shoulder” when they need my attention.
This is not about following rules or chasing signs.
It’s about building trust with your inner knowing—and opening to the loving presence that walks beside you.
🌿 Intuition vs. Spirit Guidance
Your intuition is your compass.
It speaks through your body, your instincts, your quiet knowing.
It doesn’t try to convince you.
It simply is.
Spirit guides, on the other hand, are companions who walk beside your wisdom.
They may speak through gentle nudges, unexpected insights, or a calm presence that settles in just when you need it.
Intuition arises from within.
Spirit guidance walks with you.
🔔 How Spirit Guides Speak
Guides often communicate in subtle ways:
- A sudden feeling of calm in a moment of fear
- An image or phrase that repeats gently
- A thought that feels both familiar and surprisingly wise
- A “tap on the shoulder” sensation—asking for your attention
- A voice that sounds like your own, but carries unfamiliar wisdom
For me, it truly feels like someone lovingly saying,
“Look here… something important is happening.”
One of the most sacred ways I connect with my guides is through the shamanic journey—a practice I’ll be sharing more about in an upcoming post and video.
🕊️ When They’re Silent (and Why Some Stay Unnamed)
Some guides show up once.
They appear during a pivotal moment and offer exactly what’s needed.
Others stay for a lifetime, becoming quiet companions. But like any relationship, connection with your guides deepens when you tend to it—through stillness, invitation, and presence.
Sometimes, a guide won’t offer a name at all.
Other times, silence is the message.
Silence can be a guide.
It invites you into deeper listening.
🐾 Can Loved Ones or Pets Be Spirit Guides?
Yes… sometimes.
A loved one or animal who has crossed over may return with messages of comfort, warmth, or love. But their presence is often emotional and relational—meant to support you, not direct you.
A spirit guide teaches.
A loved one reminds you that you are still loved.
Both are sacred. Both are real. But their roles are different.
🛡️ How to Know You’re Safe
True guidance is never forceful.
It will never push you, scare you, or rush you.
If a message brings fear, chaos, or confusion—it is not from your guide.
You can always ask:
“Are you here for my highest good?”
And listen with your whole being.
Real guidance is calm.
Its signature is peace.
🌙 Try This: A Gentle Connection Practice
If you’d like to begin building a relationship with your guides, try this simple practice:
- Sit quietly with a hand over your heart
- Take a few deep, slow breaths
- Say silently or aloud:
“I welcome the presence of the guide who walks with me in love.” - Ask:
“Is there anything you want me to know today?” - Listen with softness. No pressure.
- Even if nothing happens… the invitation has been received.
I’ll be sharing more soon about the shamanic journey,
a powerful and beautiful way I’ve found to connect with guides on a soul level. Be sure to subscribe to my newsletter or follow my YouTube channel if this path calls to you
